The 2022 Volvo XC60 T8 Polestar Engineered Extended Range is the priciest and sportiest member of its family. Updates for this mid-2022-model-year update include a stronger electric motor and a larger battery, which have a meaningful impact on both its acceleration and EV range. But given that it shares its updated powertrain with certain less expensive XC60 models, the benefit of its performance-oriented Polestar upgrades is less clear.

The 2022 Volvo XC60 T8 Polestar Engineered Extended Range has a plug-in-hybrid powertrain that combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, an electric motor between the engine and eight-speed automatic transmission, and another electric motor that powers the rear wheels.
