Remember That Boris Johnson Was Once a Car Reviewer

A person of the larger items of geopolitical news this 7 days includes Boris Johnson. The U.K. prime minister is stepping down.

Though reading through about how the British media is covering the function, I was reminded that Johnson as soon as reviewed cars and trucks.

Seemingly extremely badly.

I really don’t provide this up to be political — I just find it an intriguing way to simplicity into the weekend. Primarily considering that Johnson appeared to, uh, not actually do the position. It would be significantly less amusing had Johnson been qualified.

Hey, if an auto journalist/motor vehicle reviewer — not all auto journalists evaluate automobiles, and not all motor vehicle reviewers are automotive journalists — can ultimately climb to the best of his country’s political ladder, possibly that old saw we had been told in third quality about how anyone can grow up to be president is real immediately after all.

Or possibly Johnson is just lucky his editors didn’t seem to be to fret also substantially about enhancing his prose and didn’t appear to be to detect his operate ethic, or lack thereof, right up until he’d moved on.

Both way, immediately after going again and examining some of his outdated function, I’m going to have to cleanse my palette by Googling a bunch of David E. Davis, John Phillips, and Brock Yates pieces.
